From:  Macarena Fiegelist

Dear Class of 69:

I am Macarena Fiegelist daughter of Ricardo Fiegelist, whom sadly passed away on June 27 th 2013, do to cancer and heart failure. As his family we know how proud we was to be part of the JFK Class of 69, he always talked about his memories there and was waiting for the upcoming reunion to go to CA. If any of you have contact with the Ruthledge family (my father lived with them since he was an exchange student from Chile) could you kindly let them know about my father passing away and give them my e-mail address ( we would be very thankful. I noticed my father`s classmate profile had pictures of him but i could not access since I do not have a password, is it possible that you can send me his pictures. Hope you have a great class reunion.

Kind regards,

Macarena Fiegelist

Note:  The alumni committee has been in correspondence with Macarena, expressing our condolences and offering tribute to Ricardo, who kept in touch via emails with the alumni during the past 45 years.  Ricardo's last note as we were planning the 40 reunion was the he was planning on attending either the 45th or the 50th, and he expressed wonderful sentiments and memories of his life-changing experiences at JFK and through the Rutledge family.  Marcarena sent along this picture and note:

I am devastated to hear of Ricardo's passing. As you all probably remember, I dated him my senior year and double dated with him to the Senior Prom with Laura Fenwick and Mike Imura.  He was such a lively guy and my savior for 3rd year Spanish.  He helped me with the first semester, and we both agreed that I'd better not take second semester if I liked my GPA  lol.  He actually asked me to return to Chile with him.  I knew that was not possible and my father confirmed it.  Although we did not date again, we remained friends.  I was able to contact him after the problems in Syria started.  He was the Chilean Ambassador to Syria, and was able to leave safely. There was also an earthquake in his hometown, and let me know that his family was ok.  He tried to get to the last reunion, but something came up and he couldn't.  He was in touch with Gale (Fernandez) Jones to try and attend.  Gale and Mike are also sad losses.  I still have a gift from him that was an inlaid guitar pin.  I will always remember Ricardo fondly.
